Will be Planting Garlic at the End of September / Beginning of October

I recently made a trip to Viroqua on a Saturday and was very pleased to find and go to the farmers' market there.

I had my mind set on buying some garlic so that we could set up a garlic patch come fall. When I looked online for garlic "starts" I was finding outrageous prices; so, I was even that much happier when I found the markets' many vendors selling various varieties that grow in our area (at reasonable prices).

Included in the mix I went with are both hard neck and soft neck varieties. I even got some large "elephant" type garlic cloves as well. Fingers crossed when planting time comes.
