"Scarlet Elf Cup" Mushrooms?

We saw these on the ground in the backwoods; we googled them afterwards, still not certain what they are but the closest pictures I could find seem to suggest that they're called "Scarlet Elf Cup" mushrooms. More "research" needs to be done...
